We are situated in the Main Street of the township. When you drive into the township, you are looking directly into our Saloon Bar at the T intersection. You can't miss us.
We have ample parking at the rear of the bar, so when you hit the intersection, turn left and then first right to follow the road to the rear of the Star and Garter Hotel. Bring your horse and tie up to the hitching rails at the rear of the bar. There's room for all...
Coromandel town is a MUST to visit.
We have so much to offer with the old buildings still remaining and lovingly restored. Coromandel was going to be the capital of New Zealand at the height of the Gold Rush - gold was first discovered here by Charles Ring in 1852. Many visitors comment that "It's like going back in time within the town and on the car journey north."
Things to see & do in our town are plentiful. We have the famous Driving Creek Railway, Waiau Waterworks, barge & boat fishing trips, the Museum, golf course, flying club, bowls, rugby, shooting club, motorcycle club, tennis and so much more. Take my advice, call into our local Information Centre as they will make sure you get to see and enjoy the best of what we have to offer.
Now don't forget to call in and visit us. Why not just sit in the bar by the wood-burning fire in the winter, enjoy a cocktail or special coffee to warm the cockles of your heart, or sit out in the garden bar by the heaters and meet the locals in our comfortable outside smoking area.
We always look forward to meeting the new travelling visitor to our town. So sit back and relax in the theme of the Days Gone By of our little town.
